Sanitation & Recycling

Garbage Collection:

The City provides curbside household garbage collection through Pop's Sanitation.   

Excluded from regular garbage collection are tires, appliances, mattresses, furtniture, metal, construction debris, or other items which, in whole or in part, will not fit into a 40-gallon garbage can.  Pick-up of those items by city crews will be by special charge, based on size and weight, set by the City Manager, and paid for in advance.

Residential Garbage Collection Schedule:

South of U.S. 90 - Wednesdays

North of U.S. 90 - Thursdays

Recycling:

Recycling is currently suspended in the City and in Jefferson County.  

Vegetative Debris Pickup:

Leaf and limb pickup is on a rotating basis throughout the city limits. Each resident can have 4 clamp bucket loads taken per month without extra charges. Logs or limbs must measure less than 24 inches long and 10 inches in diameter unless by special, pre-paid arrangement.

Additional charges are as follows:

One-quarter truck load ...........$50.00

One-half truck load ................$100.00

Three-quarter truck load ......$150.00

Full truck load .........................$200.00
